Fly from the UK to Berlin, on arrival you will be transferred to your hotel to take some time to settle in after your journey. Berlin is a city of contrasts, where historic landmarks sit alongside contemporary architecture and vibrant neighbourhoods, offering a fascinating first impression. 

Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to begin exploring with a gentle walk through the surrounding area. In the afternoon or early evening, enjoy a leisurely walk through its cobbled streets, framed by half-timbered houses and historic buildings.

Today is dedicated to discovering Munich’s cultural highlights, or you may choose to take a full day optional excursion. Start your morning in Marienplatz, before visiting the nearby Munich Residenz, once home to Bavarian royalty and now a vast museum showcasing opulent interiors and historical collections.

Continue your exploration with a visit to the iconic Hofbräuhaus München, one of the world’s most famous beer halls. Even if you choose not to dine here, it is well worth experiencing its lively atmosphere and historic setting.

In the afternoon, unwind in the beautiful English Garden, a vast green space where locals gather to relax, cycle and even surf on the Eisbach wave. For those interested in art or science, Munich’s excellent museums offer further opportunities for exploration. 

Alternatively, take a full-day optional excursion to the fairytale Neuschwanstein Castle. Set against a dramatic alpine backdrop, this iconic castle - associated with King Ludwig II - offers one of Germany’s most picturesque experiences. 

In the evening, enjoy dinner at leisure, perhaps sampling traditional Bavarian dishes in a cosy setting.

After breakfast, meet your transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK. Depending on your departure time, you may have a little free time for a final stroll through Munich’s Old Town or to pick up some last-minute souvenirs.

There are no mandatory vaccinations required to enter Germany. However, we recommend consulting your GP or a travel health clinic before you travel to ensure your routine vaccinations are up to date and to receive any personalised health advice.

You will be provided tickets for 1st class travel on direct services between each city. Please note that train times cannot be amended once booked so please ensure you're happy with the train time offered at the time of booking. 

Transfers will not be included to and from the train stations. You can choose an accommodation near the station, use public transport or a local taxi service.
