Coins come in denominations of 1 cent (penny), 5 cents (nickel), 10 cents (dime), 25 cents (quarter), 50 cents (half dollar), and the rarely used $1 coin. Banknotes are issued in $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100 denominations. For everyday spending, $1, $5, $10, and $20 notes are the most commonly used.
