Holidays to Arenal d'en Castell

The resort of Arenal d’en castell is situated on the rugged northern coast of Menorca, approximately 20km North West of the capital Mahon and the International Aeropuerto de Menorca. The journey normally takes around 30 to 40 minutes; however, once you’ve arrived at the resort, it is easy to use public transport to get back to Mahon for a shopping trip or to do some sightseeing.

Arenal d’en Castell in Menorca is not to be confused with the similarly named resort of El Arenal on the neighbouring island of Majorca. Whilst the former is a quiet and relaxed beach resort, popular with British families, the latter is the German equivalent of Magaluf, attracting young people aged 18 -30 looking for a lively nightlife holiday.

The bay at Arenal d’en Castell is a near perfect horse shoe shape; it’s warm shallow waters make this resort very popular with families with young children. With fine, clean sand and a wide variety of water sports available, the beach is undoubtedly the main attraction of this holiday resort.

The cliffs surrounding the bay offer stunning views of the whole resort. However, it’s important to bear in mind that the walk down to the beach is much easier at the start of the day. Those less mobile or families with young children may find it takes a while to get back up at the end of a long and tiring day at the beach.

There are a number of supermarkets selling everyday essentials, along with a handful of touristy shops for any souvenirs and postcards you may like to purchase. All of the shops stock a wide selection of UK recognised branded goods, which is perfect if you don’t wish to try the local cuisine, although these are slightly pricier than you’d find back home.

Like the majority of Menorca resorts, evening entertainment tends to be limited to hotels; nevertheless, there are a number of lively bars open during the summer months.

Arenal d’en Castell is a quiet, family-friendly resort, perfectly suited to those with small children. To book your perfect Arenal d'en Castell holiday, call one of our experts today!
