Culture and stunning scenery collide in a Side holiday, where you can admire the glorious Manavgat Waterfalls and the Taurus Mountains as well as historic sites such as the Roman baths and the Temple of Apollo. Children will relish the chance to splash about in the hotel pool, the ocean itself, and the waterparks in Manavgat less than 4 miles away and Antalya, which can be reached within an hour if you hire a car. Closer by there’s a spa and wellness centre which is a wonderful place to spend the day getting pampered.

Couples – If you and the special one in your life are looking for a holiday filled with natural beauty and an awe-inspiring history, a Side holiday will offer you fabulous beaches, breathtaking waterfalls, archaeological ruins, and a picturesque told town. There’s plenty to do and see together, so whether you are sharing a romantic cocktail by the sea or exploring ancient history together, the sensational weather and the village’s relaxing atmosphere will help make your holiday unforgettable. An open-fronted restaurant looking out across the stunning coastline is the perfect way to start an evening before heading to the main street and enjoying the nightlife.

Nightlife – While Side isn’t as well known for its nights out as some Turkey resorts, the area buzzes once night falls and offers a good range of places to go and things to do. The nightlife in Side is a mix between restaurants that turn into laid-back bars in the evening and a handful of late-opening nightclubs. Some bars play live music while others serve up cocktails, helping to make up Side’s easy-going night atmosphere. Nightclubs such as Apollon and Lighthouse Club are great for anyone who wants to continue their night into the early hours.

Activities – While many people will visit Side for the history and the sunbathing opportunities, there is plenty more to do if you want something a little more active. With its stunning coastline and two main beautiful beaches, you may not be surprised to learn that scuba diving is a popular way to spend a day in Side. There is also adrenaline-packed white water rafting to enjoy, plus boat rides showing off the picturesque scenery from the turquoise waters. You can also take a day trip to Antalya to enjoy the waterparks!

Culture – Side is steeped in ancient history that can be seen throughout the resort, from the incredible Roman theatre to the 5th century AD baths. Side museum is small but certainly worth a visit, with its statues and relics from the area’s Greek and Roman periods. You’ll also be able to enjoy incredible historical structures such as the Temples of Apollo and Athena, the state agora which functioned as an open space for assemblies and markets during Roman times, and the ruins of the town of Seleucia.

Annual events – The Side Culture and Art Festival goes through July-September and has been running for over a decade.

Getting around – Like much of Turkey, getting around Side and to the surrounding areas can be done by dolmus (a type of minibus) and taxis. You can get around much of the resort itself by foot.

Mem-et Lounge Bar & Restaurant – High-standard Turkish and Mediterranean food as well as tender steaks are on the menu here, all served up on a dreamlike beachfront.

Side Ocakbasi Restaurant – Middle Eastern and Turkish flavourings make the barbecue meals and meze dishes an authentic pleasure. This is one of the highest-rated restaurants in the resort.

Q Beach Restaurant and Lounge – Italian dishes, excellent fresh seafood, a range of dietary options, and a location perfect for watching the resort’s remarkable sunsets.

Meshur 49 Pide ve Kebap Salonu – If you are after a quick but delicious bite to eat, this low-cost high-satisfaction restaurant is well worth a visit.

Britannia – As the name suggests, this whitewashed restaurant is the place to go if you are hungry for a taste of home, with traditional British breakfasts, dinners, and desserts.

Side East Beach – This beach is made up of fine golden sand and peppered with beach clubs, perfect for lazy days sunbathing and electrifying nights partying. Watersports are on offer here too, from the breezy fun of a banana boat ride to an exhilarating water ski experience.

Kumköy Beach – A couple of miles down the Turkish Riviera coast, between Side and Antalya, you’ll discover this extremely beautiful beach. Shops, cafes, restaurants, and watersports.

Gundogu Beach – This is one of Side’s more relaxed beaches – aside from the lively eastern edge – where you can enjoy great bathing conditions, plus a view of the impressive dunes.

Sorgun Beach – At the east of Side you’ll find this golden-sand beach, which stretches on for many miles. Like many of the beaches on the Turkish Riviera, Sorgun Beach is particularly suited to visitors who have an All Inclusive wrist band for one of the nearby hotels, which will serve you drinks and food throughout the day. Luxury!

Colakli Beach – Great for families and visited all year round, Colakli Beach has both secluded spots and watersports providers. There is a small fishing port between this beach and Everenski Beach, which is great for chatting to locals.
