Antalya Holidays

Antalya is a Turkish resort lying on the country’s famed Turquoise Coast, where historical ruins and sensational beaches lie close to delicious local restaurants and an exciting range of nightlife spots. The weather is warm or hot throughout the holiday season, making days spent on the sand, in the water, or exploring the landmarks a sun-kissed pleasure. Make sure to enjoy a REAL Turkish kebab during your visit as well as to immerse yourself in a history that stretches back to ancient times. And if you’re visiting in the hope of thrills and some very wet spills, Antalya has 3 excellent waterparks.

Whether you’re with a loved one, friends, or family, there’s no end to the things to do and sights to see during an Antalya holiday.

Duden Waterfalls offers a beautiful backdrop to family pictures, Karaalioglu Park has a small playground for kids and a relaxing café, and there are numerous malls and shopping centres to enjoy that have facilities for children. Some All Inclusive hotels offer kids’ clubs to keep the children entertained with games and entertainment, giving parents time to entertain themselves by the pool.

Couples – If you’re a couple seeking romance, fun, and relaxation, you’ll find masses to enjoy in beautiful Antalya. The contrast between the vibrant city centre and the superb old town is like the difference between night and day: both appealing, but in very different ways! The walled quarter is called Kaleici, and is perfect for seaside dining and finding the perfect Turkish souvenirs to take home. A day spent surrounded by historic ruins in Aspendos and Termessos is an unmissable cultural activity to enjoy hand-in-hand with your loved one. Then there’s the romantic restaurants serving fantastic Turkish food for you both!

Nightlife – The nightlife in Antalya buzzes with music, dancing, and conversation. You can find all kinds of bars to enjoy, from intimate waterfront drinking holes to venues playing live traditional Turkish music. If you are keen on culture, you can catch opera and ballet in a Roman theatre more than two millennia old, before moving on to the bubbly, energetic thrills of the local club scene. Here, you’ll find pool parties, foam parties, go-go dancers, and sometimes even world-famous DJs.

Activities – Antalya is a great destination for visitors who love the great outdoors. You can enjoy white-water rafting round the thrilling rapids of Koprulu Canyon, practice your swing in Antalya Golf Club or Gloria Golf Club, and scuba dive deep under the ocean. If you fancy a day trip to Alanya, you’ll also have the chance for quad biking, a jeep safari, paragliding and more! An Antalya holiday can be as energetic or as relaxing as you please, with its numerous options for adrenaline-packed experiences alongside picturesque scenic walks showcasing the resort’s spectacularly rugged landscape.

Culture – In Antalya, you’ve got a great cross between tourist-friendly attractions and untouched historical beauty. From the old town of Kaleici to the resort’s many historical sites, one of Antalya’s most appealing traits is the amount of buildings and ruins that offer astonishing glimpses into Turkey’s past. During your Turkey holiday you can visit archaeological sites such as the theatre at Termessos, Phaselis, Olympus and Cirali, and the ancient ruins that were once part of the ancient port city of Phaselos. Many of these sites and structures remain in excellent condition, making them thrilling places to visit for anyone interested in history.

Annual events – There is a variety of annual events and festivals to enjoy in Antalya, including a house, disco, and funk festival called District 7 in July, an electronic music festival called Magic Break in late October, and the International Antalya Film Festival in October too. Between May and December, the annual Sandland festival sees more than 10,000 tons of sand being used to create astoundingly detailed giant sculptures. However, the reason that so many people visit Antalya each year is less to do with the festivals, and more for the beaches, the stunning weather, the history, the food, and the nightlife!

Getting around – There is a wealth of choice when it comes to making your way around Antalya. Buses will take you everywhere around the city for low prices, and dolmus (minibuses) will pick you up and drop you off anywhere along their route. Trams run from the west of Konyaalti Beach to the eastern main boulevard, while if you prefer to pay a little more for the added comfort, there are also taxis.

Can Can – Huge portions of authentic Turkish bites for low, low prices, including Turkish pizza, kebabs, and pide.

Vahap Usta Et Restaurant – Recommended for meat lovers! Impeccable service with steaks cooked just to your liking.

Rokka – Excellent food with choices for everyone, including vegetarians and vegans. Make sure you try the falafel.

Kaleice Mayhanesi – The seafood and Mediterranean dishes here are a delight, and the atmosphere is ideal for couples looking for romance or friends and family wanting a charming atmosphere.

Nar Beach Bistro – Breathtaking views and tasty food are served up here from an outside veranda looking out across the gorgeous blue sea.

Kaputas Beach – This is one of the best known and most popular beaches in Antalya. It’s a small but stunning bay with azure waters and an unforgettable, deep narrow canyon you can walk to from the beach.

Konyaalti Beach – A wide, pebbly beach in the centre of the city which offers wonderful views of the majestic brown Bey Mountains. Nip to the Antalya Beach Park food court for a bite to eat before returning to the sensational Blue Flag coastline.

Lara Beach – This Blue Flag beach is not only one of Antalya’s most famous, but one of Turkey’s! Plenty of space across the sand to sunbathe, and lots of watersports to try including jetskiing, parasailing, and banana boat rides.

Mermerli Beach – There may be a small fee to spend time on this beach in the centre of the old town, but there are good sunbeds and umbrellas plus tasty food and beautiful sea views.
