The apartments, rooms, and studios you will find here are an ideal base from which to see Playa de las Americas. Soothe your stresses in the spa or solarium, let the children enjoy the kids’ club, sample the buffet and snacks, or simply enjoy a drink by the pool.

Mediterranean Palace

Standing on the gorgeous Playa de las Americas beach, this 5* hotel lets you enjoy luxurious waiter service by the huge 1,300 m² pool – or even to stay in a room with its own private pool.

Cleopatra Palace

This 4* hotel offers relaxation for the family and top entertainment. The kids’ club is non-stop fun for little ones, and in the evenings there is live music and performances.

Family – There are waterparks with winding slides and wet ‘n’ wild wave pools, plus both natural and human-made beaches that are ideal for families looking for energetic fun or quality down time under the sparkling sun. With so many hotels that have kids’ clubs and so much to do and see throughout the resort, Playa de las Americas is a great pick for mums and dads looking for a holiday spot to please everyone. Loro Parque is another highlight, which is a wildlife park that lets you spend time in the company of an endless collection of incredible reptiles, mammals, birds, and fish.

Couples – If you’re looking for romance or simply some quality time with your loved one, you’ll find scenic beauty plus day-and-night entertainment here that will keep you both captivated. While many visitors are content to spend their time sunning by the sea or the pool, you can also enjoy day trips to old towns and beautiful landscapes in the awe-inspiring Teide National Park. Spend your mornings and afternoons on the beach or unwinding at the spa, and then end your evening eating tapas and sipping wine while admiring the perfect blue ocean.

Nightlife – Known as the clubbing capital of Tenerife, Playa de las Americas is a great resort to head to if you’re looking to dance and party. You’ll find stylish cocktail bars and welcoming pubs, plus live music venues and thrilling nightclubs with sets played by the world’s biggest DJs. You’ll be spoilt for choice when you come to explore the three main nightlife spots, where the Patch area offers family-friendly eateries, pubs, and bars, and the Starco Centre and Veronica’s strip are packed with parties and the biggest nightclubs.

Activities – There is so much to do here that you may struggle to fit everything in during a single holiday. Families may want to prioritise Siam Park and Loro Parque, while anyone who visits is likely to enjoy sailing on a pirate boat while looking out for whales and dolphins. More adventurous visitors can take a guided quad bike tour through Teide National Park, a jet ski safari, a helicopter flight, or even try tandem paragliding. You may not be surprised to learn that the beautiful Playa de las Americas coastline is also a fabulous spot for watersports that include parasailing, flyboarding, and of course scuba diving.

Culture – Playa de las Americas was built specifically as a tourist resort in the 1960s, so you won’t find many monuments or historic landmarks. You’re more likely to visit this resort for its sense of fun and stunning natural beauty, but if you hire a car during your visit you’ll have access to more of Tenerife.

Annual events – Tenerife is often said to host the world’s second most popular carnival after Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, and it takes place between February and March depending on the year.

Getting around – Getting around the resort by foot is easy, so if you need a taxi day or night there are usually cabs available. The buses are regular and reliable, and often form part of the island’s long-distance routes while dropping off and picking up at the most-visited Playa de las Americas areas. Many visitors still like to hire a car, which lets you reach some of the island’s interesting hilltop villages or to travel out to nearby resorts including Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje.

The Burger Café – If you fancy some divine street food, this vegan-friendly casual restaurant serves up healthy burgers made from high-quality ingredients. Perfect for lunch!

La Casita de Taby – This friendly tapas bar makes excellent authentic finger food and has a wide selection of beers and wines.

El Molino Blanco – For romance, entertainment, and exquisite fine dining, this restaurant offers all this and more. There’s often live music played while you dine – including a singing chef – offering an accompaniment to your meal of luxurious and authentic Canary Island tastes.

Imperial Tai-Pan – If duck pancakes, chow mein noodles, sushi, and shredded chili chicken sound good, don’t miss out on this Asian restaurant’s perfectly-cooked dishes.

Restaurant Limoncello – You’ll discover local dishes and Italian classics in this restaurant’s menu, which is especially good for fans of seafood and grilled meats.

Playa del Camison – Beautiful and clean, Playa del Camison is a sheltered beach with clear green waters containing fish that swim close to the shore. The beach becomes popular quite early in the day, so make sure you find your spot early if you’re planning on spending the day.

Troya Beach – This picturesque strip of soft, black sand and calm water offers sensational views and is edged by shops and restaurants. There are plenty of parasols and sunbeds to hire here, and lots for the family to enjoy – including a banana ride for the kids!
