Couples – Couples can visit Los Cristianos for both the romance and the partying. The resort’s wonderful marina is perfect for a picturesque arm-in-arm walk, with its 200 moorings and the opportunity to take a tourist boat to catch sight of whales and dolphins. If shopping is your thing, the high street has plenty of independent boutiques and stores to pick up fashion deals. Once the evening draws in, you’ll find an enormous range of delicious places to eat together. Then you can spend the next few hours in a late-night café or bar, before either heading back to your accommodation or out to a nightclub.


Nightlife – Los Cristianos offers many cabaret bars, karaoke bars, and nightclubs. You’ll have the opportunity to join a boat party too, where the drinks flow and the tunes provide the perfect soundtrack to your stylish boat cutting across the waters. If you’re with your family, there is also a wide choice of child-friendly bars to pick from, keeping both parents and little ones happy. Playa de las Americas is just a 5-minute drive or 30-minute walk away too, which is a noisier, livelier resort with an even greater range of nightlife for those hungry for a party.


Activities – Lots of people visit Los Cristianos is for the spectacular weather and beaches, where you can easily spend an entire day without needing anything more than a little sun cream.  Whenever you fancy something else, though, there will always be more to do. For nature lovers, why not consider a jeep safari through Teide National Park, or if you prefer the water a spot of whale or dolphin watching? Then there’s Siam Park, one of Europe’s largest waterparks, which has its own bus service that can pick you up in Los Cristianos.


Culture – Los Cristianos offers some traditional Canaries architecture, with its attractive central church and some of the houses, but you’re more likely to find these in the resort’s backstreets which remained less touched by tourism. If you want a real taste of the resort’s 400-year history, make sure to take in a performance by a local orchestra, where the music will be perfect for dancing and is likely to showcase Tenerife’s Hispanic, Andalusian, and Guanche roots. The Los Cristianos market is the largest market in southern Tenerife, and is ideal for bartering for trinkets and experiencing the local culture.


Annual events – The Los Cristianos carnival isn’t a traditional-style carnival, and isn’t linked to a religious feast, the dates tend to change. However, it often takes place in February or March. Then there is the popular Virgen del Carmen fiesta, which generally happens on the first Sunday in September.


Getting around – Hiring a car is the easiest way to get around Tenerife, but there are also buses that cover every part of the island. If you decide to use the public transport, the Tenerife Bono Card can be shared and save you money.


La Casita de Taby – This tapas restaurant offers a view of the sea that is as delicious as the food and drinks the friendly husband and wife team serve up.


Arte del Gusto

Arte del Gusto – This elegant restaurant offers exceptional dishes served up like pieces of art. Definitely the place to visit if you like seafood and are looking for something special.


New Shakespeare’s – If you want a break from the continental food and fancy a taste of home, this British-style bar serves up what its owners describe as “traditional quality pub grub”.


Playa de Los Cristianos – There is plenty of room for relaxing and lots of opportunities for leisure fun on this beautiful beach, which is particularly suited to families. You can rent kayaks, paddling boards, and windsurfing boards on the beach, and just off the soft sand you’ll find shops, bars, and restaurants.


Playa de las Vistas – This clean, safe Blue Flag beach offers watersports such as jetskis, kayaks, pedal boats, and even scuba diving lessons. Nearby cafes and restaurants offer both local cuisine and international flavours.


Beach of de Los Callados – This quiet, rugged beach is a wonderful spot from which to enjoy the unspoilt nature and scenery of Los Cristianos.
