Golf del Sur Holidays

Come for the golf, stay for the majestic scenery and the year-round summery weather.

Golf del Sur is a resort that offers so much more than the chance to perfect your swing and lower your handicap. Tenerife is a stunningly beautiful island that offers views, bars, restaurants, and gorgeous hotel pools – and a Golf del Sur holiday is the perfect choice for those who like to relax as well as their golf. The laid-back atmosphere means that you can spend your days teeing off or soaking in the sun by the pool, and spend your evenings either checking out the local bars and live music or visiting nearby Los Cristianos for a livelier night out.

Great for…

Golf enthusiasts – It’s in the name for a reason!

Relaxation – For much of the year, the atmosphere of the resort is perfectly peaceful

The carnival – In February, the streets fill with dancing and vibrant parades

Sandos San Blas Nature Resort & Golf

This 5* All Inclusive spa hotel offers an achingly beautiful stay in Tenerife just a short distance from the world-class golf course.

Fantasia Bahia Principe

This magical 5* All Inclusive hotel has something for everyone in the family, with a kids’ club, teens’ club, innovative theatre shows, games events, waterpark, and more.

Family – As a family, your hotel is likely to offer entertainment on hand for all ages, kids’ clubs, a spacious pool, and All Inclusive dining options at many hotels with something tasty to please everyone. The pace may be slower here than you’ll find in other areas of Tenerife, but the temperature is wonderful all year round and the scenery is beautiful. You can also take a trip to one of the attractions nearby, visiting Los Cristianos for the Monkey Park, Los Abrigos for the Dive Centre Ocean Friends, or Arona for the Karting Club Tenerife.

Couples – The resort mainly appeals to adults, meaning that there is plenty of peace and charming surroundings to be enjoyed in Golf del Sur. This isn’t a resort to visit for a weekend of partying, but one to choose for romantic walks and a pleasing selection of bars and restaurants ranging from low-key to fine dining. It’s the perfect choice if you are both golfing fans, but if not, the privacy and peace will be more than enough to drain you of stress.

Nightlife – While a Golf del Sur holiday is quite quiet, the resort is only a cab ride or a 30-minute walk away from some lively bars and clubs. In the resort itself you’ll have restaurants and the Irish pub to enjoy, and the Black Magic Bar is cosy with reasonably-priced drinks. Much of the nightlife here can be found in San Blas, which has most of the area’s bars as well as a nightclub. If you are after a bubblier atmosphere or somewhere that stays open into the morning, we recommend a trip to either Los Cristianos or Playa de las Americas.

Activities – Golf is the top reason to visit this resort, but it’s also great for diving. The Golf del Sur Campo de Golf has 27 holes and is known to be both challenging and rewarding, with stunning natural features that include volcanic sand traps. The diving opportunities are spectacular here, with opportunities to spot dolphins, barracudas, garden eels, stingrays, and to explore sunken ships. Back on land, there’s also a Segway experience, quad safari, an escape room, and spa centres including the spectacular Sparadise.

Culture – There is a weekly market you can explore for local crafts and bargains in Golf del Sur, but if you are looking for culture you might want to try a day trip to one of the nearby resorts. San Miguel castle is just a few kilometres to the north where there are sometimes theatrical performances, and Los Cristianos, another watersports hub, is also nearby.

Annual events – A popular event in Golf del Sur to time your visit around is the San Miguel Pilgrimage, held in honour of San Miguel Arcangel during the second fortnight in September. Revellers dress in traditional costumes for the street procession, and at the end of the day the authentic celebration becomes an outdoor party.

Getting around – Getting around the resort of Golf del Sur is easy, but if you are planning on seeing more of the island you may want to hire a car. You can also ride a bus to Los Cristianos direct or other Tenerife resorts via the airport. If you are just looking for a night out, you can get a taxi to and from Los Cristianos, Playa de las Americas, or Costa Adeje, because each drive should take no more than 20 minutes.

Tapas Pata de Oro – If you want to enjoy some authentic Spanish cuisine, try the freshly-prepared traditional tapas.

Rendezvous Restaurant – International and grilled meals are the delicious flavours of the day.

Wild Geese – For a reassuringly familiar bite to eat, this Irish-style bar offers a friendly welcome, draft beers, entertainment, and pub food.

Playa Amarilla – For a unique beach experience, this stony beach is filled with stunning rock formations and fabulous views.

Playa de la Tejita – This lovely beach in El Medano is 4.7 miles away from Golf del Sur and great for snorkelling or diving. There is also a naturist section at one end of the beach to be aware of.

Playa de las Vistas – This is a little further away but has soft sand, bars and restaurants close by, and a pleasant atmosphere.
