San Agustin is a quitter alternative to its neighbouring resort Playa Del Ingles. It is an upmarket resort with casinos and relaxed nightlife. San Agustin is situated about a 25 minute drive away from Gran Canaria Airport.
A Gran Canaria resort with plenty of character, San Agustin boasts all of the usual leisure pursuits you’d expect to find from a holiday resort, including a wide variety of accommodation, a large array of shops, restaurants and bars, not to mention two casinos to keep you entertained of an evening.
Agustin was the first resort to be established on Gran Canaria Island during the 1970s. It boasts three main beach areas; dark and sandy with a promenade running the length of all three, perfect for a night-time stroll.
Renowned for its luxury accommodation, including in-house casinos, San Agustin is thought of as the most upmarket resort on the whole of Gran Canaria. Ideal for couples who enjoy a spot of casino entertainment and are looking for relaxation from their holiday, San Agustin is not somewhere you’d take younger children.
If you do find yourself there with kids, and they’re eager to explore and have some adventure, you’ll find Sioux City, the long established Wild West theme park, located not too far away. Aqualand WaterPark, the largest on Gran Canaria, is located a short distance up the valley, so your kids can have great fun splashing around and racing down the flumes. Also fairly close is the Mundo Aborigien experience, offering detailed information about the Guanches, the original inhabitants of the Gran Canaria island.
Those seeking a more relaxed nightlife, away from the busier and rowdier Playa Del Ingles, will find that San Agustin is much more to their taste. It’s not recommended to take younger children as they may find the resort a bit too quiet; that said, there is plenty of off resort entertainment to be found a short distance away.
