A small resort by Gran Canaria’s standards, Bahia Feliz is just a short 35 minute transfer journey fromthe Bahia Feliz Airport. An attractive resort, it retains much of it’s old fashioned ambiance. Bahia Feliz means “happy day”; despite this, the sheer steepness of the cliff leading down to the beach, and the strong tidal waves make this resort unsuitable for younger children.
Although very sunny and pleasant, the strong winds make the beach at Bahia Feliz perfect for watersports such as windsurfing. The beach is sandy in areas but predominantly is a pebble beach. If you’re interested in boats and yachts, you can go on an organised yacht cruise of the whole island.
A mere 10km north of Bahia Feliz, you’ll find a whole array of shopping centres, from boutiques and cheap electronic goods, to all of the usual gift shops, so you can easily find plenty of souvenirs to takeback for friends and family.
The town square is resplendent in its beauty; this is where you’ll find a great range of bars and restaurants, perfect for relaxing at the end of a long day. Sample some of the local cuisine in one of the fine restaurants, or rest your feet for a while and buy a cooling drink form one of the many pavement-side cafes.
In terms of public transport, there are excellent bus links; with four different services to choose from, exploring the rest of the island shouldn’t be a problem. Just make sure you check the bus times properly if you visit the resort out of season, as they tend to be less frequent during this time.
Nightlife tends to be hotel based, centred on strolling and romancing, making Bahia Feliz perfect for couples holidays. However, there is one exception; Garbo’s Restaurant Theatre Show offers a wonderful 3-course meal, show, singing and dancing. It is a huge theatre hall, decked out with a 1920s setting. Entrance is also available without the meal.
For a truly romantic setting, visit the resort of Bahia Feliz today.
