Where to Go on Your Costa Del Sol Holiday

Costa Del Sol is a beautiful region with plenty to see and do, it may be hard to choose between all of the wonderful places and activities on offer there, so here’s our top picks for places to visit during your Costa Del Sol holiday:

  • El Caminito del Rey – This is a beautiful mountainous trail with great views that are sure to stick in your memory long after your holiday. If you’re the type who likes to take a relaxing walk and take in the wonderful views in your own time then this is perfect for you.

  • Playa del Canuelo – This is commonly referred to as the best beach on the Costa Del Sol, that alone is reason enough to visit at least once. The grey sands and clear ocean make it a beautiful beach that’s different to what you’re used to. The clear waters allow you to see the fish swimming around your feet and the relaxed atmosphere is perfect for unwinding and relieving stress during your Costa Del Sol holiday.

  • Marbella – Marbella is where the rich and famous go to let loose, have fun and get away! It’s a luxurious place with plenty of beautiful sights to see and fun things to do. If you’re lucky you may well bump into your favourite Hollywood actor during your holiday.

Holiday Activities in Costa Del Sol

A Costa del Sol holiday offers beautiful beaches, endless sunshine and everything from water parks to zoos. There are plenty of activities and entertainment to keep you busy throughout your holiday in Costa del Sol. Many resorts, such as Fuengirola and Torremolinos developed from old Andalucian fishing villages and have fascinating old town districts to explore. Holidays to the Costa del Sol resort of Fuengirola are a popular choice with families, who are attracted by the Blue Flag Beaches, water sports, promenade and marina. However, the resort also has a Moorish castle, zoological gardens, traditional street markets and numerous restaurants. A short way inland is the charming Mijas, a traditional white-washed Andalucian village with donkey taxis for hire.

If you are looking to book a family holiday in Costa del Sol, then Benalmadena is the ideal destination for you. This is a lively, family-orientated town which is full of activities and entertainment. The biggest attractions are the seven hundred metre beach, which has jet skis and parasailing, and Tivoli World Theme Park. Others include; a Sea World aquarium and the pretty Paloma Park. There’s also an attractive marina with chic bars and restaurants. If the 24-hour karaoke bars don’t appeal, the trendy clubs and discos of Malaga are close at hand, while culture-wise there’s the original old town of Benalmadena Pueblo to explore.

We also have cheap holidays to Costa del Sol’s most exclusive resort – Marbella. Spain’s answer to Monaco, the designer chic beaches, marina and restaurants blend seamlessly with a fascinating old town of cobbled streets and whitewashed houses. Marbella has a refined nightlife in keeping with its upmarket image. Puerto Banus has the best nightspots for those who want to experience the lively entertainment. For a total contrast, check out cheap holidays in Nerja. A scenic cliff-top resort of whitewashed cottages and twisting cobbled streets, which has retained every ounce of its Andalucian charm.
