Holidays to Callao Salvaje
Callao Salvaje is a small, self-contained residential town and holiday resort on the west coast of Tenerife. Located approximately 26km away from the Reina Sofia International Airport in, south of the island, the transfer journey should take no more than around 40 – 45 minutes.
Once you’ve settled into your accommodation, you’ll quickly notice that Callao Salvaje was originally a small village that has undergone rapid transformation over recent years. This development has been carried out to meet the increasing demand for residential and tourist homes. The last project that was addressed was the lack of beach in the resort, described by many in the past as a “mixture of sand and pebbles”. This has since been remedied and the resort now boasts the wonderful Playa Ajabo beach. Inspired by the overwhelming success of the beach, the local authorities have also decided to construct a pedestrian promenade heading south towards the nearby resort of Playa Pairiso; tourists and locals alike can take an evening stroll along the promenade, and enjoy the beach at sunset.
For those tourists who are in self-catered accommodation, there are a number of supermarkets selling all of your everyday holiday essentials, including some British recognised brands, although they do come at a slightly higher price than back home.
If you don’t fancy cooking, (hey you are on holiday after all), the resort has a good selection of restaurants offering good quality food at a reasonable price.
For many, the resort of Callao Salvaje acts as a comfortable and pleasant base from which to explore the surrounding areas of the island. Situated nearby to the Tenerife motorway system makes getting about fairly easy, so you’ll have the chance to go further afield should you wish to experience more of the island.
The resort of Callao Salvaje is perfect for those wanting a relaxing beach holiday, or as an ideal base from which to explore more of Tenerife.
