Around 11 million people a year now take cruise holidays, with Mediterranean cruises from UK ports like Southampton being a firm favourite with British travellers. Just as with resort holidays, cruise holidays vary enormously in terms of size, accommodation and what’s on offer. The huge family-focussed “floating resorts” of the Royal Caribbean line have everything that active families-at-sea could need, from flume pools and surf simulators, to rock-climbing walls and skating rinks. At the other end of the scale are the Med cruises by companies like Page & Moy, which offer a more sedate, cultural experience. While traditionalists can still book luxury cruises with classic lines like Cunard, there are a growing number of cheap cruises totally free of formality.
With more and more all-inclusive cruises becoming available from British ports, a cruise holiday offers tremendous value over land-based options. Imagine Canary Island cruises with no airport transfers, a choice of gourmet restaurants and a non-stop timetable of activities and entertainment – at a bargain price. The P&O cruise line offers all this and more, with a full itinerary of European, Mediterranean and Canary islands cruises from its home port of Southampton. P&O also specialise in worldwide cruis holidays, so adults can enjoy a luxurious tour of a veriety of exotic and faraway destinations.
For those who are looking to go further afield we at Co-operative Travel have a vast array of fly-cruise packages available to ports all over the world, Caribbean cruises, USA Cruises right through to the Far East, Australasia and beyond. From here why not choose to cruise with NCL, where customers are given a unique Freestyle dining experience giving optimal choice when it comes to fine dining and gourmet indulgence.
