May Bank Holidays
The spring bank holiday – officially, the second of two bank holidays we have in May – is generally too short to book family holidays abroad. However, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 has changed all that, moving the late May bank holiday to the start of the half-term break, and giving us another day of celebration. We at Coop Travel have cheap May bank holidays in Spain, Turkey, France, Greece and many other destinations besides, giving you the chance to celebrate in style.
Late spring is a popular time for us in the UK to book last minute holidays to warmer climes. Not only because we get two extra days without losing our holiday entitlement. May marks the official start of the summer holiday season, and with tour companies competing for bookings, low cost holidays to Crete, the Costa Brava and other popular beach holiday destinations are widely available. As UK May bank holiday dates are often different to other parts of Europe, beaches will be less crowded and hotels quieter too.
If you’re planning to book cheap May bank holidays in 2012, you’ll need to be quick – because it’s going to be a popular time for family holidays! With Tuesday June 5th declared an extra bank holiday for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the May holiday has been moved to Monday June 4th to form a long weekend of celebrations. With summer half-term starting the same weekend, lots of families will be taking advantage of the two extra days to book their 2012 holidays early. Popular destinations include the Costa Dorada, Greece, Majorca, Cyprus and the Algarve.
If you just want a cheap break for a few days, there are plenty of last minute holidays over the early May bank holiday period. How about a short family holiday to Disneyland Paris? Or a romantic break in Venice or Rome? A mini-cruise to Amsterdam, maybe? Wherever you want to be next May, we at Coop Travel have low cost holidays to make you feel like royalty.
